TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. The tour is organized for the sole purpose of providing aspiring artists with a tour experience.

2. The successful applicant must be available for the tour which takes place in the fall of each year.  If the applicant is unable to undertake the tour, any scholarship awarded must be returned.

3. The CFMTA pays the Young Artist $75.00 per concert with a minimum of $300.00 and a maximum of $1000.00 per tour.

4. The CFMTA pays: 1) Tour transportation within the province(s) of participation.  2) Minor incidental expenses; receipts must be presented for amounts incurred; personal expenses like long distance call, laundry, etc. are not reimbursed.  3) Overnight accommodation when necessary.

5. The Branches pay subsistence expenses while in the center concerned.

6. Once the recital itinerary is finalized, no change can be permitted.  If unavoidable alterations are necessary then the coordinator must be notified at once.

7. Applicants are reminded that they must be in a state of good health before making application for the preliminary audition.  Should unexpcted illness develop during the tour, a doctor's certificate must be forthcoming.

8. All recital and travel arrangements must be made through the convener unless the convener authorizes otherwise.

9. The program must be in the hands of the coordinator not later than six weeks prior to the tour.

10. Major program changes cannot be made after this time.

11. In the event that a Branch wishes to present a local assisting artist, the program must be sufficiently flexible to insert a 20 minute portion by the assisting artist.

12. Publicity material, including photos, should be available 2 months before the start of the tour.

13. Attendance at receptions following recitals is mandatory.

14. Performers must check with the local Branch convener for rehearsal time and transportation arrangements to the recital hall.

15. If a second artist is chosen to tour, the solo pianist may be requested to act as accompanist.

16. School or University students must submit a letter of consent to be absent for touring, from Principal or Department Head.  This must be presented at the time of the preliminaries.

17. During a tour, the artist is permitted to meet, or play for, school assemblies as a means to publicize the concert.

18. It is agreed in this contract that the Young Artist shall not sub-contract or otherwise engage in public performances during the interim between performances at the centers specified in the Young Artist Series tour.

19. All advertising and publicity is to be handled by the convener.
