CFMTA CONNECTING CANADA

VIRTUAL PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Connecting Canada 2026: A Lifetime of Music Education

Enhancing Studio Success in Business, Technique & Musicianship, Pedagogy, and Technology

CFMTA 2026 VIRTUAL PD DAYS

On the global stage, Canada’s music education scene is a rich field of pedagogy, performance, and passion for many types of music. With technology so readily accessible, we can easily connect to share ideas and support music educators and students across our nation and beyond. CFMTA’s Connecting Canada is an opportunity to enhance studio teaching, and music performances from coast to coast to coast!

The Professional Development Event will begin on Monday, July 6, with several sessions being released weekly through the month of July. Access to all recordings will be available to registrants for viewing until the end of August. A collection of live and pre-recorded sessions will be offered on this schedule.

CALL FOR PROPOSALS

Connecting Canada 2026 is opening a call for proposals from presenters whose work centres on the themes of Studio Business, Technique & Musicianship, Pedagogy, and Technology. While the event aims to include representation from all provinces and territories with active membership in CFMTA, proposals from non-Canadian applicants and non-CFMTA members are welcome. The event is hosted in virtual format featuring a hybrid of pre-recorded and live-streamed experiences. Applicants looking to reach a wider audience and raise awareness of their topic, share experiences, research, or fulfill academic requirements are encouraged to apply.

Proposals in English and French are welcome. Live and Pre-recorded Sessions will be offered. Proposals should be in one of the following formats:

  • 30 minute Presentations, Lectures, Workshops, etc.
  • 60 minute Presentations, Lectures, Workshops, etc.

Applicants responding to the call for proposals will benefit from having their submission accepted in several ways, including broadening their audience, expanding their reach, and more. Accepted presenters will be offered a complimentary registration to the entire event. Please note that no remuneration is offered to presenters whose proposals are accepted.
